Chief George Kakekaspan, on behalf of Keewaytinook Okimakanak and the Fort Severn First Nation, accepts congratulations for the Kuh-ke-nah SMART Demonstration Project from the Honourable Dan Newman, Minister of Northern Development and Mines
(see the picture). On March 20, 2001, Minister Newman, Chairperson for the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation announced a $1.4 million contribution to Keewaytinook Okimakanak's Kuh-ke-nah project to assist in the construction of the telecommunication infrastructure required to carry the various telecommunication applications and services (education, health, justice, governance, etc).
